In July 2025, Mrs. Dzitiro attended the 4-day Fintech course for Lawyers, Legal Practitioners, and Compliance Professionals hosted by the University of Cape Town.

The first day focused on the broader fintech landscape, moving beyond well-known cryptocurrencies like Bitcoin and Dogecoin. Discussions covered investments, crowdfunding, unicorn banking, and robo-advice, as well as the regulation of crypto assets. Subsequent presentations explored the future of these assets, including stablecoins, asset tokenisation, derivatives, and the tokenisation of traditional instruments such as gold and money markets.

The following days were spent reviewing the South African Financial Intelligence Centre Act (FICA) and the obligations it imposes on accountable institutions in relation to the Protection of Personal Information Act (POPIA) and the era of data privacy.

Participants reviewed IT contracts and concluded the training with a discussion on innovation in fintech and the protection of IP rights related to innovation.

Legal Consultant

Ms Florence Jambwa has over 30 years of post-qualification experience. She is a registered legal practitioner and notary public admitted by the High Court of Zimbabwe. Florence holds a Bachelor of Laws Honours Degree (LLBS) from the University of Zimbabwe, a Master of Business Administration (MBA) from the Eastern & Southern Africa Management Institute, and a Master of Laws (LLM) in International Business Law from the University of Cumbria.

She has been a member of the Panel of Arbitrators at the Harare Commercial Arbitration Centre since 2019 and has presided over numerous commercial cases. Florence possesses practical experience and academic qualifications in Alternative Dispute Resolution (ADR), especially in arbitration, mediation, and negotiation. Currently, she is engaged in private practice, combining over 30 years of practical and academic expertise.

Her professional background includes senior management and executive roles in public entities, mainly as a company secretary and legal advisor. Her areas of focus include tax law, public resource mobilisation, mining law, municipal law, administrative law, commercial and business law at both local and international levels, corporate governance, risk and compliance, policy formulation and implementation, as well as strategic planning and management.

Florence has built an extensive career in the legal field. She previously worked in the Ministry of Justice's Legal and Parliamentary Affairs Department, specifically in the Policy and Legal Research Division, and in the Criminal Division of the then Attorney General’s Office, where she served as a Public Prosecutor. After that, she worked for the City of Harare, handling litigation cases, providing secretarial support to Council Committees, and offering legal research and advice on various council-related issues. She later served as Group Company Secretary and Legal Advisor at the Zimbabwe Mining Development Corporation, where she managed a wide range of legal matters for the group, including all company secretarial duties.

Subsequently, Florence joined the Zimbabwe Revenue Authority as Company Secretary and Legal Advisor, managing complex legal matters related to tax and customs, including both advisory and litigation services. She has also taken on numerous international assignments, such as negotiating international tax and customs agreements and contributing to legal instruments that promote trade and economic integration within various regional and economic communities.

On the administrative front, Florence played a key role in negotiating various local and international supply contracts, including information technology and infrastructure projects to support the Zimbabwe Revenue Authority. Currently, Florence is in private practice, specialising in business and commercial law across its various facets. In recent years, Florence has also become a trainer in Corporate Governance with the Institute of Directors Zimbabwe (IODZ). She has served on the boards of commercial entities, non-profit organisations, pension funds, and university councils, among others. She is also involved in social responsibility activities and is a member of Rotary International through the Club of Harare Central, where she is the current presidential nominee.



Gamuchirai Dzitiro

Managing Partner

Mrs Gamuchirai Fortune Dzitiro is the firm's founding partner and chairperson. She has fifteen (15) years of post-admission experience as a legal practitioner, notary public, and conveyancer. She holds a Bachelor of Laws Honours Degree (LLBS) from the University of Zimbabwe and a Master of Laws in Commercial Law (LLM) from the same university. Currently, she is pursuing a Master of Laws (LLM) in Information Technology Law at the University of Edinburgh. She is a Certified Data Protection Officer with the Postal and Telecommunications Regulatory Authority (POTRAZ), the Zimbabwean Data Protection Authority.

Much of Gamuchirai’s practice focuses on Information Technology Law, including cybersecurity and data protection, although she remains involved in civil litigation, conveyancing, and notarial work. She has experience in monitoring and assessing information technology systems, as well as conducting regulatory and compliance checks for local and regional bodies. She has worked closely with product and commercial teams to meet clients' needs, while also negotiating, drafting, and managing IT contracts. She can offer support when clients' in-house lawyers lack the necessary expertise or when urgent deadlines arise.

Gamuchirai has conducted data privacy impact assessments for clients' product tools and performed GDPR audits for local and regional firms with multinational interests. Her IT practice encompasses creating internal data protection policies, evaluating contracts for data controllers and processors, advising on contract modifications for digital users transitioning from internal to commercial applications, providing general contract and management services, conducting data privacy impact assessments, developing privacy compliance tools, and performing risk assessments and strategies for data protection protocols.

Gamuchirai is an accomplished court and trial lawyer with rights of audience in all courts in Zimbabwe, including the High Court, Supreme Court, and Constitutional Court. She is also an experienced conveyancer, notary public, and estate manager. Beyond practising law, Gamuchirai serves on the boards of directors for several Zimbabwean and regional consulting firms and is a management trustee for a regional 308-property real estate development.


